One of our most recent projects involved an orphanage in the province of Kirkuk in Iraq. This particular area holds the highest crime rate and incident rates. Aegis teams identified the local orphanage as requiring assistance and immediately sought to help them. By having direct liaison with the orphanage, they asked us to assist them with acquiring a new playground to replace the existing dilapidated and unsafe structure, and to provide the children with something they could all utilise and enjoy. The project cost $2500, which included removing the old playground and constructing the new one, and the Aegis team also distributed toys and stationary to the children. This project, whilst providing something positive for the orphaned children, also helped build good relations and trust between Aegis teams and the community.
