The Aegis Foundation prides itself on providing a future and investment into the youth of Iraq. One of our most recently completed projects was the Youth Development Project at the Rumaythah Community Centre in Southern Iraq. The community Centre was constructed 5 years ago, providing a football pitch and basketball court for the City’s young people. The centre had no real capability to support the young people of the community, apart from limited football and basketball activities. The Aegis Foundation donated funds for the centre to purchase additional gym equipment in order to give a new support to the community and expand its range of activities. The equipment was purchased locally by one of the Aegis teams and was delivered and assembled at the centre. The project has been very positive and has allowed the centre to increase its capacity and thus increasingly help the community. This is reflected in the membership numbers, which have increased from 300 to over 500.
