Water Well Project

The Aegis Team conducted a meeting with the local Sheik to identify possible projects within his village. The Sheik informed the team that his village does not have a running water supply, thus has to pay for water to be transported in from other villages by water trucks.

Due to the proximity of the River Tigris the Sheik explained that the water table was not too far from the surface (approximately 70m). To that extent the cost to dig a well and provide an electric water pump would be minimal. The Aegis Team used Foundation funds to bore the well, fit it with a pump and filter unit to enable the safe clean drinking water for the local community.
