

During a site visit to a sewage lift station in Eastern Baghdad, the Aegis Reconstruction Liaison team met a young boy with severe birth defects which left him unable to walk. His only mode of transport was his 7- year-old sister, who had to carry him. His family lived in squalor, had no warm clothing and very few blankets.
The cost of distributing a wheelchair, blankets and a few toys was a mere $300. This is an example of where donations from the GRD Enduring Impressions program are put to valuable use.
